Raw Vegan Intermittent Fasting Challenge

It's 2019 and some of you have already fallen off the wagon for your New Year's health and fitness goals. Don't worry, I'm not judging you, lol. It's quite normal actually. Life happens. So, now what?

One of the things I like doing online is group challenges. The cool thing about these challenges is that they go on at various times throughout the year and you have accountability built-in if you want. So, like previous years, I'm doing a few of my own this year. One of the upcoming ones that I'm excited about is my 40-Day Raw Vegan & Intermittent Fasting Challenge. Yes, I said raw vegan. I know, I know, the thought of eating raw vegan sounds depriving and boring, but with all the recipes I've got, it's going to be awesome! We start on March 1, 2019. Click here to join the challenge.

What is a raw vegan diet?
A raw vegan diet is a combination or two diets or lifestyles--a vegan diet (veganism) and a raw food diet (raw foodism). A raw vegan diet includes whole foods only, which consists of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and sprouted grains or seeds/beans. Foods must be raw and not heated over a specific temperature to destroy the nutrients.

Like with a vegan diet, a raw vegan diet excludes consuming anything that comes from an animal as well as the animal. It doesn't matter if the animal lives on land, flies in the air, or swims in the sea (this is for people that ask "what about fish"). If it eats, have sex or reproduce, and poop, it's an animal. So, like a fully vegan diet, no meat, dairy, or eggs.

A raw food diet excludes cooked food; it should be raw. There are different rules to this raw foodism. One rule says temperatures should not be over 107 degrees. Another says if you're dehydrating, the temperature should not be above 115 or 117 degrees. The goal is not to destroy the nutrients.

You can blend, dehydrate, or refrigerate your food. Absolutely no processed foods. The picture below is a raw vegan dessert:

What is intermittent fasting?
Intermittent fasting is an eating pattern where you cycle between periods of eating and periods of fasting. It is solely based on when you should eat, not what you should eat. Go to the event to see what methods to choose from for this challenge.

Why am I doing this combined raw vegan and intermittent challenge?

Well, from experience, I know that intermittent fasting works and it's great for your health. I've always wanted to tackle raw veganism and I've read a lot of great things about it (as well as controversies for those who don't agree). Besides, I'm already vegan so it's the next step on the ladder. My ultimate goal is to mainly eat a raw vegan diet afterward, but also incorporate some cooked vegan foods like beans. This challenge will give me that push that I so needed to reach that goal.

Health and fitness wise, I haven't been exercising for a while now and it's mainly because of my back injury from my car accident and when I was younger, from various duties in the military. Yes, my vegan diet keeps my weight in check, but, I want to be toned with lean muscles and have a completely flat stomach. I'm older now and I need to take extra care of my body.

What exercises will you be doing along with this food/diet challenge?
In addition to this food/diet challenge, I've signed up to do a yoga class near my home. I've also committed to doing a 40-Day Meditation Challenge (privately) for balance and more. If time permits, I want to also add a new app for target exercising. I'm extra excited about the yoga though because it's something I've always wanted to do and possibly teach later down the road. I think it would be good for my back. I'm also super excited about my meditation challenge.

Are you going to be sharing your journey and progress?
Oh, here's something else that's cool that I want to share with you... I am going to upload videos on YouTube of my journey so you can follow me and do what I do. So, follow me on YouTube, okay. I'm going to show you my food hauls, the types of food I'm eating, how I'm feeling, and more. I'm not sure if I'm going to share my yoga world with you, but if you want me to do that..., comment below and let me know. Click here to go to my YouTube channel.

Okay, let's do this!
